I'm fundraising for the royal flying doctor service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away. This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes! Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!

So far this year

Goodluck with the walk. It’s for a great cause and I am very grateful for the RFDS as they were there for me when I needed to be transported from Kununurra to Perth to get my appendix out urgently.

My Updates

New year, new town, new challenge, new view!

Wednesday 1st Oct
Last year I mostly kayaked my 45km because, well buildup is probably the most unpleasant time of the year for walking in the Kimberley (outback!) but this year I’m at the ocean end of ocean to outback and able to hang up my keyboard at 3pm after a 6am start today and take Jack-Dog for a walk around the block before Pilates class and dinner! How the climate has changed! In fleecy tracky dacks and fingers that felt like they were about to snap off in the cold at 3:30 in the afternoon! 🥶 I’m still acclimatising to the southern concept of warm! I hope you’ll all support me again in this year’s challenge! Our little E Rotary club came in third highest for the fundraising last year. Across Australia, a handful of Rotarians who come together online each month, who live from the ocean to the outback, raised the third highest amount! How good is that!? Come and join us this year to help us amplify our total even more!

From Outback to Ocean this year!

Tuesday 12th Aug
Well after last year's kick off in my then hometown of Kununurra (outback!) to this year in my new hometown, Hopetoun I am definitely heading into the Oceans this year!  Looking forward to the warmer temps so that I can add Kayaking to my Kms down here - but also walking along the beach!
I am looking forward to seeing what WA Rotary and Friends can achieve this year!
