We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in support of Rothy's cancer journey
This October, together with our boys I'm taking on a month-long walking challenge to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
More personally, it's a way for team Rothy to show morale support for Guy as he has surgery for prostate cancer this month.
Together we're aiming to walk 360km through October - that's the distance we'll travel for Guy's surgery. It's like walking to our front gate 125 times!
The RFDS is also important to us. I've long admired the role it plays in proving medical services and emergency response to remote Australians. We hadn't thought Narrabri was remote enough for the RFDS until Christian was flown by RFDS as a toddler from Narrabri hospital to reach paediatric care for an asthma attack.
We'd really appreciate if you can donate or join our team. Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and we can show Guy he has a team of supporters on this journey.
Gents, please take the time to visit your doctor and ask for a PSA test, then repeat every few years. Thankfully Guy's has been detected early as he insisted on that PSA test and the prognosis for full recovery is good.
