Keeping regional communities safe: Windlab and QREC support the RFDS
Australia is a vast country, and in remote, rural, and regional communities, access to immediate healthcare is never guaranteed. For some, the nearest hospital can be a full day’s drive away.
Windlab is Australia's clean energy pioneer and a proud member of the Queensland Renewable Energy Council (QREC). Our projects span both urban and regional Australia, where we work alongside landholders, communities, and Traditional Owners to deliver clean, renewable energy – and at the heart of this work is people. The safety and wellbeing of our employees, contractors, service providers, visitors, and the wider community is always our priority.
That’s why supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is so important to us and to QREC. Both Windlab and QREC are deeply connected to regional communities – whether by developing renewable energy projects that bring long-term economic and social benefits, or by strengthening relationships with the people who live and work in these areas. The RFDS is often the critical link in safeguarding those very communities, delivering life-saving emergency care and essential primary health services no matter how remote the location.
Each year, the RFDS cares for more than 330,000 Australians – that’s one person every two minutes. Their work directly supports the wellbeing of the same regional communities where Windlab and QREC operate.
This October, we are proud to join QREC in taking on the Oceans to Outback Challenge to raise funds for the RFDS. By running, walking, and cycling, we’re doing our bit to help keep the Flying Doctor flying.
If you’re able, please support our challenge by donating today. Every contribution helps continue this life-saving work!
