Doing It For Dad – Walking 87km for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

In 2020, a quick trip to the doctor for a malaria script ahead of an overseas trip turned into something we never expected.

Within just 24 hours, our dad — aged 54 — was urgently flown to Townsville by the Royal Flying Doctor Service(RFDS) and had a pacemaker installed.

It was the RFDS that got him there in time. Their speed, skill, and care quite literally saved his life — and we are forever grateful.

Now, we’re walking 87km to raise funds and awareness for this vital service — and we’re doing it for Dad.

The RFDS is a lifeline for thousands of Australians every year, especially those in rural and remote areas. They show up when no one else can — and we want to help make sure they can keep doing that for generations to come.

If you can, please donate — every little bit counts. Your support helps keep the Flying Doctor flying.

And if you’d like to walk with us, you’re more than welcome! Join our team “Doing-It-For-Dad” and walk in honour of your own loved ones. You never know — it might be just what your heart needs too 💙

Thank you for your support.

Hey Sam... If I could donate the amount your Dad has raised over the years, I would. There would be 1000 fully funded planes in the air I reckon!
