Why I'm walking
As a family, we're doing the RFDS challenge to help this amazing service help fellow Aussie across the country, who live rurally, who need their help, as they don't have easy access to essential healthcare.
Being a family who live in a rural area and work the land, these guys are essential if we need their help in a medical crisis. Without these guys, it may be the difference between life and death, without easy access to medical aid.
Having needed these guys before, myself, a few years ago for an unexplained internal pain, they helped transport me from KI to the mainland, to get the help, and medical care I needed.
For the month of October, we as a family will be walking the 87km to help raise funds for this vital service.
If you're able to financially contribute, even if it's as little as $2, that would be wonderful. Its okay if not, cheering us on with our efforts would be just as greatly appreciated too!
I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
The RFDS is an amazing service that help rural living Aussies across the country. As our family live in this area and work the land, I want to support those who would be able to help us in a medical crisis, should we ever need their help.
From my own past experience a few years ago when I was sick on KI with an unexplained internal pain, the RFDS, transported me to the mainland to recieve the help and I care that I needed, that couldn't be provided in the rural area we lived.
This October, as a family, we're taking on the month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. Even if this means just doing laps up and down our long driveway or to the creek with the dogs, we're going to do our part.
Any donation, big or small would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can't contribute financially, cheering us on with our daily walks would help us along too!
