We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

In July last year, I found myself relying on the Royal Flying Doctor Service after a serious car accident. I had broken my back and needed to be flown to Perth for urgent medical care.

It was a pretty frightening time, but the care and reassurance I received from the RFDS team on that flight is something I will never forget. They looked after me incredibly well and gave me confidence that I was in safe hands when I really needed it.

Not long after the accident, I said that one day I wanted to give something back to the RFDS. This walk is my chance to finally do that.

I’ll be taking part this October with my three-year-old son, Gio. Doing this together means a lot to me. After more than a year of recovery, and recently having my final surgery to remove all the pins and rods from my back, being able to get out there and walk alongside Gio feels like a pretty special moment.

The accident changed a lot for our family, and this is a chance to turn part of that experience into something positive. I’m proud to be able to support an organisation that was there for me when I needed it most.

We’d love to raise as much as we can for the RFDS and help them continue providing that same care to other people and families when they need it.
