Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
As a family, we have chosen to take part in the Royal Flying Doctor Service Fundraising Walk, and after the past few weeks, it has taken on a very special meaning for all of us.
Just two weeks ago, we sadly lost our dear Grandpa. Growing up in the country, we have always known how important the RFDS is. We have seen first-hand how many people in country communities rely on this incredible service when medical care is needed and help is sometimes a long way away.
Grandpa himself used the Royal Flying Doctor Service twice during his life, with his final flight being just a fortnight ago. Knowing that this service was there for him when he needed it most makes this cause even more meaningful to our family.
In his memory, we’re taking on the fundraising walk together, while raising money for a service that has personally helped our family.
It’s still very raw and hard to believe that Grandpa is no longer with us, but being able to do something positive in his memory feels like a lovely way to honour him.
If you would like to support our family and help keep the RFDS flying for others who may one day need them, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
This one’s for you, Grandpa. We’ll be walking every step with you in our hearts. 💙
