I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

On 13 November 2024, my family’s world changed in a moment. My dad, living more than 200 kilometres from the nearest major hospital, suffered a stroke. Thanks to the swift response of emergency services, and in particular, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), Dad was flown to Adelaide and given a fighting chance.

Over the next seven months, Dad’s health required further urgent medical attention. Once again, the RFDS stepped in ensuring Dad was transported safely to Adelaide.

In June 2025, we had to say our final farewells to Dad. We will always be grateful for the extra time we were granted—a time filled with love and precious memories.

By walking 87km, I hope to honour Dad’s memory and inspire others to support lifesaving services that ensure no one is ever too far from help.

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work.
