Why I'm running

I'm a third-year medical student undertaking full-time placement within the Central West. During that, I have been able to work with the RFDS South Eastern Section family and have seen the great work they do. Rural & remote communities require healthcare just as much as any other Australian, so please support me by supporting the RFDS through kind contributions.

Back out to Parkes

This week I return back to my clinical school in Parkes to complete my last block of placement on the ward in Parkes Hospital. During this time, I’ll be preparing hard for exams while still making the most of placement. Lots of hills in Parkes to go running around in, so stay tuned!

Rural Health Pathways Conference

Last week Thursday I was able to travel to Sydney to participate in the Rural Health Pathways Conference at the ICC centre in Darling Harbour. School kids in years 10-12 were able to come along and get a taste to what a career in rural health could look like. I was involved in a chat corner, and also running an airway management station; moving from least-to-most invasive, using airway adjuncts, and how to intubate a patient to secure an airway. It was an awesome time and great to catch up with people from around the state that I have met along my medical school journey!

Grawin Opal Fields

Last day flying with the RFDS for this year. Ended on a high flying into Lightning Ridge, driving out to Grawin Opal Fields for a busy clinic. About to take off to come back home to Dubbo.

Nyngan Surrounds

Good morning, Clinic completed yesterday in Nymagee. A stop through ‘The Nyngan’, charming pub with a tasty meat lovers parmigiana. Stayed overnight in Nyngan, off to the Marra, just over an hour north of Nyngan for one more clinic before heading home today. Thanks to all who have donated so generously. Eli

I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
