Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>How Far? Is raising funds for RFDS
I'm fundraising for Royal Flying Doctor Service
My story with the RFDS goes back to the mid 90’s at a little place called TILPA on the Darling River about 160klm west of Cobar NSW.
Graeme Lister who was then working with Dalgety Russell & Co and myself decided that we would organise a Field Day at Tilpa NSW.
In so doing , we brought together a large range of rural supply companies to attend. We then decided to have an Auction to raise funds for the RFDS, all the suppliers kicked in and at the end of the day we had raised a few thousand dollars for a great cause. RFDS medically is the “life blood” of rural Australia. So there was no 2nd guessing who the money would go too!
Some years later I was collected from Dubbo and flown to Sydney (RPA) with RFDS in a critical condition following an anaphylaxis, I was intubated at Dubbo Base Hospital and placed under a general anaesthesia. I woke in ICU in RPA with a respirator breathing for me. They had saved my life!
This is reason enough to keep supporting them.
Please donate to my challenge today!
Thank you.
So far this year
