Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

Australia is spectacularly good at two things: being enormous, and putting important things a very long way from each other.
For people living in rural, regional and remote Australia, that distance can become far more serious than an inconvenient drive. When medical help is hours away, the Royal Flying Doctor Service helps close the gap, bringing essential care to people who might otherwise struggle to reach it.
So this October, Team Rex-Slater is taking on the Ocean to Outback challenge.
We’ll be walking, moving and accumulating kilometres with the general philosophy that if the RFDS can cross enormous stretches of Australia to help someone in need, we can probably manage to get off the couch and contribute a few kilometres ourselves.
There may be enthusiasm.
There may be questionable decisions.
There will almost certainly be complaints about our legs.
But underneath the silliness is a cause we genuinely care about.
The RFDS provides emergency retrievals, primary healthcare and essential medical services to communities across Australia, helping make geography less of a barrier to receiving care.
Every donation to our fundraiser helps keep that extraordinary service moving.
So if you’d like to support Rex-Slater, donate whatever you can. Big or small, it all adds up.
We’ll provide the kilometres.
The RFDS can keep providing the wings. ✈️❤️
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
2
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
1
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
1
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

Help us turn kilometres into care and get the Flying Doctor where they’re needed most.
