Why I'm walking
Last year, I experienced firsthand just how vital the Royal Flying Doctor Service truly is. Amid a high-risk pregnancy complication, I was flown urgently to Adelaide by the incredible RFDS team. Being airlifted for a medical emergency is a frightening and vulnerable experience, but thanks to the kindness, care and professionalism of the nurse and pilot who accompanied me, I felt safe and supported during one of the scariest moments of my life.
My gratitude runs deep, not just for my own experience, but because RFDS has also come to the aid of several of my family members over the years. That’s why this October, we’re giving back to the service that has done so much for us. The RFDS has helped save our lives, and now it’s our turn to help support them.
I’m walking this October to help save lives, give back to a service that means so much to our family, and help more Australians access the essential healthcare they need.
I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, alongside other mums and their bubs in our mother’s group, Oliver and I are taking part in Oceans to Outback, pledging to walk 42kms (or more) throughout October to raise much needed funds for the invaluable Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
If you are interested in sponsoring Oliver and I, you can make a donation via the link below.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us towards our goal and support the incredible work of the RFDS.
Together, we can help keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work.
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
3
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
2
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
2
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

So proud of you Bri! We will be forever grateful to the RFDS for being there when you needed them most and getting you safely to Adelaide. A cause that will always be very close to our hearts. Xx
