I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
My family’s story shows just how important that access is. My dad dedicated almost his entire life to helping the people of Aurukun. He suffered a heart attack while in Aurukun, and if it weren’t for the support of the community and the urgent care he received, he wouldn’t be here today. That moment showed me firsthand the life-saving difference accessible health services make for remote families.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). During the challenge, I’ll be based on Badu Island (about as remote as you can get!), and while I truly hope I don’t have to meet the Flying Doctor in person, it gives me peace of mind knowing they’re there if needed.
Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes.
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today and help me give back to the service that has given so much to people like my dad, my family, and my community.
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
1
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
0
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
0
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
