Australia is a huge country and living in a remote community has made me realise just how important services like the Royal Flying Doctor Service really are.
When you’re far away from major hospitals and specialist care, you can’t always take access to healthcare for granted. Sometimes, getting the help you need means someone has to come to you.
That’s why this challenge means something to me.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long walking challenge to raise money for the RFDS. I’ll be walking as much as I can throughout the month, knowing that every step is helping support a service that reaches people in some of the most remote parts of Australia.
I know I’m only one person, but I believe that small efforts can make a big difference when we all come together.
