Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
8
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
5
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
5
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

Trip to Deniliquin
Sunday 27th Sep Today I still managed to add 6km to my training tally while travelling with Paula Barr and Danielle Hedley Trainee Coaches, for Swan Hill Riding for the Disabled to Deniliquin to meet Leigh Warren with the pony George which she is leasing to our centre. I will take the opportunity to lead George while I get my Km's up. Maybe riding him to prepare him for our riding sessions will also count for my points tally. Share
Saturday night with 'The Girls'.
Saturday 26th Sep Saturday night means a weekly get together of close friends for a shared meal at a club or pub. Elaine Brown who keeps up with my FB Posts, asked about the Oceans to Outback October Fundraiser. Three of our company compared our experiences with flights in the RFDS air ambulance in Victoria from Swan Hill. Elaine was not so fortunate as she had to make her trips by road. I was able to register their donations via the app to ensure their donations were recognised. Often people assume that the RFDS is only for remote communities, but RFDS has a vital Victorian service.
