What i really like about this fundraiser is the awesome array of support features provided by the RFDS / O2O app. Email signatures, Zoom Background , Posters, Social Media tiles and so much more !! It takes a while figuring out the many many features on the App. In the past i also gave the unique milestone gifts (pen, sticker, tshirt, fridge magnet etc.) to my supporters as a Thank You ❤️🩷💙🩵🧡💚. Its such a great & thought out chalkenge and its different every year. I thank all my supporters and those who show at least interest - consider to participate. At least you get some exercise in - and brag about it, too 😅."Hands on" with the Flying Doctors
Many moons ago i have worked at a Aerodrome owned by Mining Company in the Pilbara. As a Aerodrome Reporting Officer one of the team always had the 24/7 duty phone plus was available for night call outs. Multiple times i have received calls in the middle of the night from RFDS HQ requesting assistance to make the Airport available - either to retrieve a patient from site or a Refuel Stop for RFDS aircrafts that came from further North en-route to Perth in need of fuel. These call-outs and the work involved were so satisfying as we knew we help people to get the urgent medical assistance they need. So professional, timely & organized. Just brilliant to see with own eyes.Stayed rural
From Warramal to Moora - every step gets counted and documented for the cause. Making progress despite a few "slack" days due to long travels.Going Rural
Stayed rural - left the ocean a little while ago. Counting & documenting every meter & step regardless where i walk or run. From Warramal to Moora - all captured and explored for the cause.I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
10
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
6
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
6
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
