I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!

So far this year
I’ve helped provide...

My Updates

Day 10

Friday 10th Oct
At the end of 10th Day, I have walked 118 kms and my body is screaming at me … but ‘soldier on’ is the words that come into my mind. The RFDS don’t allow challenges to stop flying people to larger medical areas. My target goal is $1000 and I am almost half way there. Thank you Frank you walking with me if we run into each other at the Ross River.

Low on my mojo

Wednesday 8th Oct
It is day 8, I am feeling low today. I have had to take the day off work and hoping to feel better tomorrow. 10km/day doesn’t sound a lot but my legs are feeling it!

Rfds touches so many lives …

Monday 6th Oct
I have just sent Alison and Stephen a sponsor request … within moments a ping went with a reply. Alison’s mother had had a bad fall, recently near Miles and needed to be air lifted by RFDS from the Miles Hospital to Toowoomba Base hospital. You are definitely angels …

Walking buddy

Monday 6th Oct
This morning I noticed a RFDS shirt, we began to chat and within moments we proceeded to walk around Ross River together. The company was great and the minutes ticked away. Frank shared with me his life saving trip in the RFDS from Cooktown to Cairns and this cemented the reason why I am walking over 10 kms each day for the month of October.
