I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. I’d really appreciate it if you could please donate to my challenge today!

So far this year
I’ve helped provide...

Laryngoscopes image

68

Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.

Life-saving medical chests image

42

Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.

Defibrillator Pads

My Updates

End of October 2025 fundraiser challenge

Monday 3rd Nov
Collectively throughout Australia $4.25million was raised to keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying. I’m very grateful to all my sponsors that donated, you’ll make a life saving difference in someone’s life 🩵 Thank you thank you thank you ❤️ 💙 🤍

Last day 31st october

Friday 31st Oct
Well today is the last day of fundraising and what a blast it has been 💥 Raised $2,384 and walked 375km with one more walk to come this evening🚶‍♂️ It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of this journey and I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful sponsors. A massive thank you to each and every one that has contributed 💰, from the $10 donations to the $520 donation and everything else in between. I (and ultimately the RFDS) have been blessed and I’m very thankful for this amazing opportunity to give back to such a worthy cause 👍 😃

Frenchville walking track

Tuesday 28th Oct
The end is in sight and thanks to my amazing donors I’ve achieved my km goal as well as my Fundraising goal. Three days left to see if I can hit $2.5k in contributions and 350km in distance walked. Thanks so much to all those who’ve contributed, your efforts have spurred me on and made a significant difference to keep the Royal Flying Doctor aircraft where they should be “in the air” 🛩️

The RFDS work tirelessly to save lives.

Wednesday 22nd Oct
These planes are the lifeblood of the outback community, even for those of us that need to get from Rockhampton to Brisbane for cardiac care 😉

Kershaw Gardens Walking

Wednesday 17th Sep
🌴Very peaceful walking through the Daintree Forest this evening, beautiful palms, gurgling stream and then Zeke woke me up with “hey mate, we’re still in Rocky”. Oh well, we enjoyed our walk at Kershaw Gardens 😉 Hard at it, training for the upcoming fundraising challenge during the month of October for the #RFDS Sharon joins me for my walks now which is great🚶

Feeling out of sorts 🤒

Saturday 13th Sep
Feeling off today but still managed to get 7km done. Woke up with terrible cough and headaches. I don’t normally suffer with headaches, been dosing myself up and rested after our morning walk. Will rest tmrw as well and see how I pull up ❤️‍🩹

Rfds fundraising

Wednesday 10th Sep
This is a little pic of my training. I’m raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Ready to give it another crack this year during the month of October and up the ante a bit more from last year. Apparently I’m only allowed to do a max of 60kmh 😉

Rfds challenge training

Saturday 6th Sep
I’ve only just started my fundraising efforts and I’ve already received 2 amazing contributions from Andrew Formosa at Lined Australia and good friends Narelle & Murray Kenzler. Thanks so much guys, it makes my heart very happy when the money comes in for this great cause. I just need to do my part now 😊 My training is going well 👍
