Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>Challenge Accepted!
For the Month of October I will be pushing myself to walk a minimum of 98kms to raise money for one of our most vital services we use in rural Australia, The Royal flying doctor service, they provide essential and critical services to patients across across Australia. The RFDS has critical is saving my family and friends whilst living rurally! This is why I want to support them. Any help, share or donation is truly appreciated. Thank you and bring on October ♡I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
4
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
3
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
2
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

My Reason
Saturday 12th Sep My Reason for this Challenge!Hi, My name is Samantha and I live in a small rural town in South Australia called Roxby Downs. Living here has opened my eyes to the challenges of life outside the major cities and towns. The RFDS is a critical life changing service provided to our communities.
A few years ago my Pappa Bear, Phil had heart issues, he was in our small local hospital and the amazing nurses/doctors there did everything in their power to keep my Pappa Bear alive and got RFDS involved to transport him to Adelaide for critical life saving care. Without RFDS my Pappa Bear probably wouldn't be here and im eternally grateful for the staff at Roxby Downs Hospital for everything they did and the RFDS for providing the critical flight services to Adelaide to save his life ♡
We live and work in a very rural area and this service is a blessing to have. I know of a few people from work who have also been saved by having access to RFDS, A very close family friend and co-worker Stevie was able to be treated and transported because we had access to RFDS!
Therefore i am dedicating my acceptance of this Challenge to my Pappa Bear Phil L, and family friend Stevie N.
I hope to complete a minimum of 98kms of walking and raise a minimum of $1000.00 towards RFDS awareness, support and fundraising so please get behind this critical Australian service and donate what you can. Share
