Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

I lived on a cattle station in the Kimberley in the 60's and 70's and know how much I appreciated that the RFDS was just a whistle away.
Although 60 years ago, and as a newby to remote living, delivering a baby on the kitchen table in the dark, and being able to get a plane to the airstrip when a stockman broke his neck while mustering, are experiences forever etched on my mind.
The daily routine of medical skeds, the administering of drugs from the medical chest that kept the station community healthy, and the good-humoured and oh-so-welcome regular health checks by the visiting doctor, made for less stressful station life.
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee.
As an 80 year old, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
A donation to my challenge in support of the work of the RFDS would be greatly appreciated!
Grazie mille!
