I'm fundraising to keep the Royal Flying Doctor flying
This October, while on maternity leave, I’ve made the commitment to walk/run 100km to raise funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctor, as my contribution to continuing to help with the health needs and lives of others. Having worked as a nurse for the past nine years, and recently completing my studies as an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner, this fundraiser hits close to home. I value and understand the importance of equal and accessible healthcare for all people in this vast and wide country. There are many people who live a long way from a health clinic, let alone major hospitals. Having worked remotely in the NT and family located in the Kimberley, I’ve learnt just how vital the health service needs are, and how much strain is placed on some of the most highly demanded hospitals serving remote communities in the country. The Royal Flying Doctor provide free, 24-hour emergency aeromedical and primary health care to people in rural and remote parts of Australia. Without this service, and the supplies they provide, many lives would be greatly impacted. Even if this may not directly affect you, your family, or your community, you can still help by supporting those who need it most ❤️
I’m aiming to raise at least $1,000. All donations go directly to the Royal Flying Doctor service. I’ve included the link below for donating. Thank you so much for your contribution, however big or small it all counts.
So far this year
