Why I'm walking
I have lived in Australia for more than half of my life, and feel very privileged to have been able to do so.
My recent experience in accessing healthcare in metro area after i broke my ankle got me thinking about how easy, smooth, and quick it was for ME to get the help i needed, and not everyone are able to get the same level of care.
I would like to be able to give back to the communities, especially those across rural and regional areas in Australia who are struggling with accessing healthcare.
I've set up a modest target considering my recovery, and modest amount that i hope, with your help, i can reach. Please help me help the RFD team reach their fundraising goal this year!
Soggy day 1 October
Well! Today was a silly day for a walk, but i managed a gingerly 1km stroll, being extra careful in the wet condition. Wouldn't want a repeat of another broken ankle! It was drizzly all day, but at least it is getting warmer now that we're well into fool's spring. I figured if i walked 2km a day, i'll get to my goal and have some spare kms for other days where i can't walk far. Wish me luck with the rest of the walk!!I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
20
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
12
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
11
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

The RFDS were amazing with Vic’s airlift from the Outback to Perth. Can’t praise them enough. They’re the reason he’s alive.
