87km for Dad & the RFDS ❤️🏃‍♀️

This October, I’m taking on the RFDS Ocean to Outback Challenge, with a goal of running 87km throughout the month in memory of my beautiful dad ❤️

As many of you would know, Dad sadly passed away following a tragic accident just over two years ago, and the RFDS played such an important role in getting him the care he needed when it mattered most.

Having grown up and lived in a country town, I’ve always known just how important the RFDS is to rural and remote communities. For the past three years, I’ve also worked as an Emergency registered nurse, where I regularly see RFDS patients come through the Emergency Department and see firsthand the incredible difference their service makes. 🤍

It’s an organisation that has always meant a lot to me, and working for the RFDS one day is genuinely a dream of mine. I’m currently studying Midwifery at university, which is another step towards that dream. 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺

My dad and I used to run and walk together, so being able to take on this challenge doing something we both loved feels incredibly special. I’ll be running these 87km for him, while raising money for a service that has touched my family personally and helps so many others across Australia. 🤍🤍🫶

There are 87 RFDS aircraft across Australia, which is why I’ve chosen to run 87km — one kilometre for every aircraft helping bring vital healthcare to people who need it. 🛩️❤️
