Why I'm walking
As a nursing student, my experiences in rural and remote healthcare have shown me how important access to timely, quality care is, regardless of where someone lives.
My rural placement gave me a greater appreciation for the challenges faced by communities located far from major hospitals and the important role the Royal Flying Doctor Service plays in helping bridge that gap.
Rural and remote healthcare is something I’m genuinely passionate about, and I want to support an organisation that makes such a meaningful difference to these communities. That’s why I’m taking on this challenge for the RFDS.
I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service ✈️❤️
As a nursing student, I’ve seen how important access to healthcare is, and through my own nursing placements, I’ve had the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges that can come with providing healthcare in rural and remote communities.
That experience made me realise just how much we can take access to healthcare for granted. For many Australians living outside major cities, the nearest hospital can be hours away, and having access to timely medical care can make an enormous difference.
The RFDS plays such an important role in bridging that gap, providing emergency retrievals and essential healthcare to people across rural and remote Australia. Every year, they reach more than 330,000 Australians. That’s one person every two minutes!
Supporting rural and remote healthcare is something I’m passionate about, so this October I’m challenging myself to go further and raise as much as I can for an organisation doing such important work.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps the RFDS continue providing vital care to Australians who may otherwise have limited access to it. ❤️
Thank you so much for supporting me and the RFDS! ✈️
