Why I'm walking
When I was a kid, I watched the Royal Flying Doctor Service series on TV, and that was actually how I first learnt that the RFDS existed and the incredible work they do for people living in remote and rural Australia.
My grandparents had a remote farm, and thankfully they never needed the services of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. But growing up, I always understood how important it was to have that lifeline available when medical help is so far away.
Now, years later, I’m incredibly proud to be taking part in the Coast to Outback Challenge — not only to raise money and awareness for such an incredible cause, but to help support the people and communities who may one day desperately need the RFDS.
For me, this challenge also means something very personal. Living with fibromyalgia brings its own challenges, and some days can be harder than others. Having something like this to work towards gives me a sense of purpose, a goal to push myself towards, and a reason to keep going even when my body tells me otherwise.
I’m proud to be challenging myself while helping give others access to a service that can quite literally be a lifeline.
❤️ Coast to Outback — for a great cause, and for a purpose that means so much to me.
Every bit of support, encouragement and donation means the world. ✈️❤️
