Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...

12
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
11
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

Why the RFDS?
Monday 3rd Aug
In 2018, my then 2yo daughter received a life changing diagnosis that was potentially (and still is) life threatening. Our worlds were flipped upside down and our heads were spinning just trying to process the information we had received. The hospital in our small country town was not equipped to deal with this illness, and with the likelihood of Tori slipping into a coma rising quickly the RFDS was called to transfer us to a larger hospital. With an upset parent and a very sick 2yo, the pilots and nurses on the plane were nothing short of amazing. From calming everything down & monitoring this new condition, to trying to distract/entertain Tori with a teddy and a stop by the flight deck - it was a sense of calm in the middle of the biggest roller coaster of emotions I have ever had to deal with. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever need the RFDS, but I am so glad they were there & just a call away - they helped save my daughters life. I urge everybody to support the RFDS if they can and help them continue the amazing work they do!
