I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

This October I'm cycling 120km for the Royal Flying Doctor's Service (RFDS) Oceans to Outback Challenge.  Living rurally, I can see the importance of this service and the impact it makes in people's lives.

Please consider encouraging me on my 120kms with a donation.  It's 30km/week, while that's not too bad, I have a busy job!  Any words of encouragement welcome to help me get out there and hit the pedals.

Thank you in advance!

So far this year

My Updates

Twelfth Ride

Tuesday 28th Oct
Another commute.

Eleventh Ride

Monday 27th Oct
12kms - the largest complete river loop on easy paths!  Saw a snake friend sunning himself along the way and lots of ducks.

Tenth Ride

Friday 24th Oct
Night ride! Cool, calm and peaceful. Ducks gliding on the river and flapping across the path. Looking at this sky, it was easy to feel like the only person for miles.

Ninth Ride

Tuesday 21st Oct
My work commute, by bike.

Eighth ride

Monday 20th Oct
A brisk evening jaunt around the racecourse, then following the streets, wherever I felt like. Of course I ended up at the river!

Seventh Ride

Sunday 19th Oct
A hot and muggy afternoon ride around my usual river circuit.  The river looked beautiful today - bright green where it was reflecting the grass, a darker green brown (typical summer river) in the distance.  The sky feels full with rain.

Sixth Ride

Friday 17th Oct
A meander through the suburb across the river, then along the river, over the bridge and back along the other side.  Lots of people out and about on foot with dogs and on bikes.  Pleasant.

Fifth Ride

Thursday 16th Oct
This ride was beautiful - a regular lake loop, this time with grey clouds and a feeling of coming rain. It sure did rain... and thunder, and lightning struck.  I was able to capture this excellent shot.  A special and memorable ride.

Fourth Ride

Tuesday 14th Oct
A gentle cool evening ride taking in the beautiful riverfront, houses and long expanses of field.

Third Ride

Monday 13th Oct
A 33 minute evening ride, a large river loop of 9km.  Watching the waterbirds getting ready for a bed and feeling rejuvenated by cool air.

Second Ride

Tuesday 7th Oct
A lovely, long evening was the perfect time for my second ride.  A lovely lap around the river loop was energising and relaxing all at once.

First ride

Saturday 4th Oct
Kicked things off with a ride that was supposed to be small... ended up in the next township!  A great way to use a sunny day.
