I'm running this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

RFDS and the work that they do has always made a huge impact on me. Having previously worked as a doctor in a rural town in South Africa, I have seen first hand what a retrieval can mean for a baby who needs it.
I participated in the 2024 Oceans To Outback Challenge and raised just over $1000 for their wonderful service.
Since then, the impact of the RFDS has become more real to me. We travelled into the QLD outback last year on holiday. We got to experience first hand the remoteness of the Outback. It also became apparent of how reliant the communities out there are on the services provided by the RFDS. It’s not only about retrieval in emergency situations but also how these communities receive their GP, dental and mental health care.
At the beginning of the year, the RFDS had a large part in looking after 2 very special friends of mine. If it weren’t for the RFDS - my beautiful friend and her precious baby would not have received the care that they did. And for this - I am eternally grateful.
