Why I'm walking

I'm raising funds because along with the RFDS doing amazing things for many people we know, we personally have been lucky enough to experience first hand how wonderful they are. Earlier this year our 7 year old son got sick with RSV which quickly turned into Pnemonia. It got really bad really fast with his lung filling up with fluid. We got an emergency flight over to Townsville and straight into surgery first thing in the morning to insert much needed drainage tubes. What was to follow was another emergency surgery, over a week in ICU, over 3 Litres of fluid drained from his left lung and all together a 4 week stay in hospital. Without the RFDS flight in the middle of the night we wouldn't have been able to get to Townsville for help as quickly as we did. They are truly amazing.

I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!

So far this year
