I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

When I graduated from uni way back in 1998/99, I had the privilege of moving to Mount Isa for my first job. It was such a wonderful time in my life, made even richer by the fantastic friendships I formed — including living with people who worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

I saw first-hand just how vital the RFDS is for Australians living in rural and remote communities. Since moving back to southern Queensland, I’ve also been incredibly grateful for this wonderful service when loved ones have needed to be transported to hospital for life-saving treatment.

So this October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the RFDS and help keep the Flying Doctor flying.

Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians through 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services — that’s one person every two minutes!
