Why I'm walking

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a much needed lifeline Australians living in regional, rural and remote communities depend on.

I'm pushing myself throughout October, for the farmers who help feed our nation and the regional communities that help keep Australia running by taking on a month-long fitness challenge, to raise funds to keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) flying for the Australians living in regional, rural and remote communities throughout Australia, because I believe every Australian deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their postcode.

Please donate to my challenge and help make a difference for Australians who rely on the RFDS every day.

Australia is a big country, and for those living outside our major cities, access to immediate healthcare isn't always a guarantee. For many farmers, families and communities across regional, rural and remote Australia, the nearest hospital can be an eight-hour drive away. While many of us can reach a doctor, specialist, mental health service or emergency department within minutes, others face vast distances just to access basic healthcare.
When illness, injury, or a mental health crisis strikes, the Royal Flying Doctor Service is often the lifeline people depend on. The RFDS provides hope, support, and sometimes the difference between life and death.

Every day, the RFDS delivers vital healthcare services, from routine check-ups and chronic disease management to emergency aeromedical evacuations and mental health support. Their aircraft, equipped as flying intensive care units, reach some of the most isolated corners of our country, ensuring that where you live doesn't determine whether you receive the care you need.

Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians through 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That's one person every two minutes receiving the care and support they need.

Behind every flight is a person in need: a farmer injured while working the land, a parent seeking urgent care for their child, an elderly resident needing specialist treatment, or someone struggling silently with their mental health. The RFDS delivers more than healthcare; it brings reassurance, dignity and hope to Australians who might otherwise go without.

If you're able to help, no matter how small the contribution, your donation will directly support the incredible work of the RFDS and help ensure they can continue providing lifesaving care to those who need it most.

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their lifesaving work.

❤️ Thank you for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, will help bring vital healthcare closer to those who need it most.
