Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Something I took for granted living in metro Victoria was my immediate access to healthcare services, so when I moved to rural Victoria, I was suddenly over an hour away from a hospital when I needed it. Anyone who has needed emergency care will tell you that one minute feels like an eternity, but some Australians are 8 hours from the nearest hospital. Some Australians can only be accessed through 4WD vehicles or by planes and helicopters. Thats where the Royal Flying Doctors Service steps up and helps provide care for those living in remote, rural and regional Australia.
One day, I’d like to do my part and work in remote nursing, but for now whilst I study I’ll be taking on a month-long fitness challenge this October to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
I’ll be walking and running 98km, 1km for every year the RFDS has been serving Australians
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. I would greatly appreciate any donations :)
So far this year
