Tempie has been a Trooper

Its been a while since I added a post. Tempie has been walking with me but unfortunately she only walks about 1.8kms. Today she has pulled up a little lame so she stayed home with her toys while I walked.

A Walk with Half A Dog

Its been a terrible week of walking with Tempie. The walks have showed Tempie has arthritis in her front leg. She is excited to go out and loves the activity but between 700 metres and 1.8km I start to notice things. She gets thirsty, from the Cushings, so we have a drinks break around 1.8 kms. The arthritis pain can play up anytime. Today I did something different. We walked 1.1kms and dropped her off at home, and then I did another 1.3kms by myself. I got home to find Tempie with her ball in mouth read to play ball. Think the best plan for her is two walks a day of no more than 2kms to stop arthritis flare ups.

Ive Reached My Fundraising Goal

A few days ago I reached my fundraising goal of $500. Today I increased my goal to $1000. Im excited with the new Challenge Ive set myself. I am so thankful to everyone who has donated along the way.

Nobby's Breakwall

Walking with Tempie has had some hurdles. We have a water break about the 1.8 - 2km point and she has been able to finish the walk. We saw the resident seal swimming and playing near the rocks in the channel. A few ships coming and going with the help of the tug boats. It was an enjoyable walk.

01 October - Comboyne Scarecrow Festival

This is one of the blogs that didnt save. So here goes ..... again My friends and I took a drive into the mountains to a little village called Comboyne. The town were having their inaugurally Scarecrow Festival. The town's community loved the idea and they 62 entries. It was a lovely walk up and down the hilly streets viewing the beautiful Scarecrows. Visitors were asked to vote on their favourite Scarecrow. I voted for Frida Cow-Lo.

Oh the Joys of Writting a Blog

Learning something new does have its teething problems. Ive written and rewritten this first day blog about four times. 🤣🤣 I was travelling down NSW from QLD after competing at a Boccia Tournament. On my way down I stopped in the Laurieton area to stay with friends. We went for walks through the bushland with the Border Collie. It was so nice, even saw two breeding pairs of Ospray, a bird of prey. In which I learnt its not an Eagle.

D-Day Tomorrow

Today is the last practice walk. Tomorrow is 01 October is the start of the month long Ocean to Outback Challenge. Come along on my journey and help by making a donation to this worthy cause.

Running Around

Today Im running around cleaning the house and car. Does that count as a practice walk? For me, it is. Someone has trouble walking & no energy to do anything for the last 18 months it is a soul destroying. So Im challenging myself and walking for better health and raising money for a worthy cause.

A Cheeky Trial Run

Ive been setting up my profile, downloading Strava app, and hoping that it all works before 01 Oct. Tempie, the dog, will supporting me on the way. After dinner Tempie and I are ready to test out if Ive set it all up correctly. Next time I go walking at night, I must take a headlamp. We completed just under 2kms and everything work. So happy.
