Why I'm running

The Royal Flying Doctors Service holds a very special place in my heart.
They airlifted my dad from a rural township to the Royal Perth Hospital when he became critically ill.
Dad was later diagnosed with terminal cancer, and we sadly lost him in 2020. However, because of the RFDS, he was able to access the medical care he needed and spend his remaining months in greater comfort and dignity.

Working in a rural environment, I have also seen the difference the RFDS makes in the lives of friends, colleagues, and community members who have needed urgent transport to access medical care. Their service is truly a lifeline for people living in rural and remote Australia.

As I work towards my nursing degree, the RFDS is an organisation I greatly admire and look up to. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping those in need are an inspiration.

Thankyou RFDS, for the incredible work you do. My family and I will always be grateful, and our rural and remote communities are stronger because of your care and support.
