Can you help me fundraise for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!

So far this year
I’ve helped provide...

My Updates

Season 3 RFDS

Friday 3rd Oct
Next week Season 3 of "RFDS" begins.  Did you know that the previous two seasons were produced in and around Broken Hill?  This brand new season has been made at our very own RFDS base in Pt Augusta, and filming has taken place in Quorn and the Flinders Ranges as well as Adelaide.  Also, all events occurring in this great series are based on actual, real life call outs that the RFDS has had over the years.  To add to the authenticity, the producers have RFDS doctors, nurses and pilots as advisers working alongside the scriptwriters.  Enjoy the new series and think about those who carry out this work, day in day out and say a prayer for them!

Tomorrow's the big day!

Tuesday 30th Sep
My official walk for the RFDS begins tomorrow and I'm so pleased that I am able to be a part of the huge community that will be out there walking and running for such a good cause.
None of us wants to think that we will ever need the RFDS but no matter where you live, there may come a time when they are your only hope.
Whether you need a transfer to a larger hospital, as Alan did; whether you are travelling on holidays and the unexpected happens; or whether you are nowhere near medical help, the RFDS is there for you.
We are so blessed in Australia to have this great organisation started by the Rev Dr Flynn all those years ago, and the wonderful doctors, pilots and nurses who make it all possible.
But they can't do it without our help!  You may not be able to join the walk, but you can support me in my fundraising.  As I said before, just 50c per km will make such a difference and I am so thankful for any support that I can get.
God bless,
Janet

I'm on the Way!

Tuesday 16th Sep
Only two weeks to go before the real fundraising begins!  I would really appreciate your support, even if it's only 50c per km.  Every dollars counts towards helping the RFDS.
Since I've been tracking my kms and steps I have managed 18kms in just 6 days, so I'm averaging 3km per day.
Now that spring has come, it's beautiful in the mornings although I have been unable to walk a couple of days due to the rain, which is an absolute blessing for the farmers.
Hope you will join me on my journey!
