I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Hi Everyone,

I’m fundraising again this year for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia by taking part in Oceans to Outback.

This October, I’ve set myself a huge goal: 200km in total. Last year I ran 160km in 31 days — but this year I’m stepping it up. The first 100km will be in just 24 hours as I take on the Riverway Insomnia 100!

Here’s a challenge for you:
👉 I’d love to see you donate $1 for every kilometre you think I can complete in 24 hours.

Australia is a big country, and for people living in remote, rural, and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t always guaranteed. In some places, the nearest hospital can be an eight-hour drive away.

That’s why the RFDS is so vital. Every year, they reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24/7 emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services — that’s one person every two minutes!

By going further this October, I’m hoping to raise as much as possible to help keep the Flying Doctor flying. Together, we can make sure more Australians get the care they need, no matter where they live.

Please support my challenge and donate today!

So far this year
I’ve helped provide...

My Updates

100km Challenge complete

Tuesday 30th Sep
On Saturday the 27th of September at 9am, I set out to run 4.4km every hour on the hour for 24 hours to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia .

On Sunday the 28th, I completed my challenge — running 106km in 16 hours and 25 minutes.

Throughout the day I experienced cramps and fatigue like I’ve never felt before, but knowing I had the support of all the amazing people who donated kept me pushing through. So far, we’ve managed to raise $1,866 for the RFDS.

I want to say a massive thank you to my friends Kara-Mae and Nelson for staying with me for the whole event. They made sure I met my nutritional needs and gave me morale support, which allowed me to keep going like a kid on Milo.

To all the people who supported me through their donations — you are legends. There were definitely times when thinking about all of you got me through the night, especially after I picked up an injury in the early morning. Thankyou.

I also want to thank my wife Kayla for her support, and my beautiful baby girl Keira — my training partner along with our dog Bungee — for coming with me to cross the finish line.

This was my first ever running event, and I enjoyed every second of it. I even made a few new friends bonding over the pain we were all experiencing.

Thankyou Townsville Tri Club for organising such a great event.
Would I do it again? Probably not.

100km run

Monday 15th Sep
On 27th September, I’ll be pushing myself to the limit by running 100km in under 24 hours to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.

The RFDS provides lifesaving medical care to people in remote and rural parts of Australia, and this run is my way of giving back to the organisation that helps so many.

💡 Want to get involved? Here’s how:
👉 Pledge $1 for every kilometre you think I’ll complete.
(Back me for the full 100km = $100. Think I’ll get to 70km? Pledge $70!)
👉 Or make a donation of any size — it all helps.

Every donation, big or small, will help make a difference.

🙏 Please donate here: https://www.oceanstooutback.org.au/fundraisers/jackkenny/oceans-to-outback
Or you can also donate on my Facebook fundraiser page.
