Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t always a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital can be hours away.
This October, I’m taking on the 87 km Oceans to Outback challenge to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) ✈️❤️
The RFDS is a cause that feels particularly close to home for us, as we have two friends who are pilots for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Hearing about the work they do and the people they’re able to help makes supporting this incredible organisation even more meaningful to me.
Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
I’ve set myself a goal of completing 87 km and raising $250 along the way.
For me, this challenge is also about getting myself out of the house, moving my body and having something to work towards. 87 km feels like a big challenge after not walking much postpartum, but having a goal and a reason behind it is exactly the motivation I need to get out there and get going.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, I would be so incredibly grateful. Every donation helps support the incredible work of the RFDS and the people they provide care for.
Together, we can help keep the Flying Doctor flying. ✈️❤️
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
1
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
1
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
1
