Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
I have always considered the RFDS as a great and uniquely Australian institution, but our family had never had any first-hand experience with the organisation.
A couple of months ago, my brother-in-law was travelling near Karratha in WA. He had a fall that resulted in serious injuries including a fractured hip, broken pelvis and internal bleeding. His condition demanded medical evacuation for treatment in Perth.
RFDS was there when he needed it!
Our family are grateful to all involved.
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
16
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
10
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
9
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
