Why I'm walking

I’m walking to support the RFDS and the incredible work they do for people living in rural and remote Queensland. As a nurse working in these communities, I’ve seen how challenging access to healthcare can be when distance is a barrier. I’m walking to help support an organisation that ensures people, no matter where they live, can access the care they need. Every step is for the communities I’m so proud to care for. 💙✈️

Nursing in the Bush, Fundraising for the RFDS

Working as a nurse in rural and remote Queensland has given me a first-hand understanding of just how important access to healthcare is for people living outside our major cities. Distance, isolation and limited local resources can create enormous challenges when someone needs urgent medical care.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service plays such a vital role in bridging that gap, bringing lifesaving healthcare to people who may otherwise be hours away from the care they need. Through my work, I’ve seen the difference that timely, accessible healthcare can make, and it’s something I feel incredibly passionate about supporting.

I’m taking on this fundraiser because I want to give back to an organisation that means so much to the rural and remote communities I have the privilege of caring for. Every donation, no matter the size, helps the RFDS continue reaching people across Queensland when they need it most. 💙
