Why I'm walking
I am walking 87 kilometres this coming October to raise funds for the RFDS through the Oceans to Outback Challenge!
The RFDS or Royal Flying Doctor Service is a vital service for those who live, work and travel in rural and remote areas of Australia and provides:
🔵 24/7, emergency aeromedical rescue (flying seriously injured and critically unwell patients by plane or helicopter 🚁) from rural and remote services to major hospitals 🏥
🔴 fly-in and fly-out doctors to deliver basic care 👩🏻⚕️
⚪️ telehealth service round the clock to advise for remote emergencies 📞
October is my birthday month, and so this is quite special for me! I have also recently reset my health goals and walking - which I love - helped me to get there. So, as a rural doctor who aspires to be part of a Retrieval Service one day, this cause allows me to combine everything I am passionate about. 💙🤍♥️
Please support my journey by donating 😊 Every dollar helps the Flying Doctors fly further and respond faster! Thank you so much for your contribution. 🙏
PS: The walk log will officially start on the 1st of October but you can start donating now.
PPS: Donations are tax deductible for Australian tax payers
I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
11
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
7
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
7
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.

I admire the advocacy....you can do this!!
