Why I'm running

This October, I will be running as far as I can (minimum 120km) to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctors.

As a student paramedic, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand during rural placements just how important the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is to communities outside our major cities. One day, I hope to work with the RFDS myself.

Australia is a huge country, and for people living in remote, rural and regional communities, access to urgent medical care isn’t always guaranteed. For some, the nearest hospital can be an eight-hour drive away. That’s where the RFDS makes such an incredible difference.

Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians through 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services — that’s one person every two minutes.

So this October, I’m going further, one kilometre at a time, to help keep the Flying Doctor flying and support the life-saving work they do for Australians who need it most.

If you’re able to, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support and a donation to my challenge. Every contribution, big or small, helps bring essential care closer to the people who need it. ✈️🚑💙
