Why I'm running
I'm running this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
In October, I’m taking on the challenge of running 100km to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service — a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Earlier this year, we lost my beautiful brother, Ace, after his courageous battle with cancer. When the time came, the RFDS helped bring Ace home from Brisbane to Gin Gin so he could spend his final days surrounded by the people who loved him, in his hometown- the place he belonged. That is something our family will be forever grateful for.
There are no words to properly describe what it meant to have Ace home with us. Those final days were heartbreaking, but they were also precious, and we were given the gift of being together as a family.
So, throughout October, every kilometre I run will be for Ace. ❤️ I’ll probably have plenty of moments where my legs are screaming at me, but I’ll remind myself why I’m doing it — for my brother, for our family, and for the incredible work the RFDS does for families like ours.
If my 100km can help another family get their loved one home when they need them most, then every single kilometre will be worth it.
For you, Ace. Always. ❤️
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
