Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

Let’s do this
It can be lovely to live in the middle of nowhere but it also comes with its challenges when accessing healthcare. Unfortunately yet with great appreciation our family has had to use this service within the last few months. My mum was able to be delivered safely, timely and with great care to a large metro hospital for urgent critical care. Very rockstar of her getting the Hollywood treatment landing direct on the roof of hospital in the chopper. Out of appreciation i am taking on this challenge. Also coming to the party a bit late.. so i will be smashing out my 87kms in the last 18 days of October! It will be a challenge with life, kids, and harvest cranking up- but nothing compared to what mum has done in the last few months and the gratitude we have for the RFDS. If you have the ability to support me in this that would be amazing, because you just never know when you might need to use this incredible service!I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
55
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
35
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
32
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
