Why I'm walking

I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate healthcare isn’t always guaranteed as for some communities, the nearest hospital or health care units can be hours away.

Having grown up in rural Australia on a sheep cattle station, with the closest town an hour away, I understand firsthand how important access to healthcare is for people living in remote communities. Growing up in a large family in a small rural community, I experienced the importance of having reliable access to healthcare when medical services are far away.I saw the importance of having services like the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) available when you need them most. With my family also being heavily involved in healthcare, this cause is especially close to my heart.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the RFDS.

Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians through 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctors flying and support their life-saving work. ❤️✈️

Please consider donating to my challenge. Every donation, no matter the size, can make a difference.
