I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Every $10 helps so please don't think you need to donate big....You may remember that during 2024 travels to remote Queensland, I was taken ill and will always be grateful for the airlift from Cunnamulla to Toowoomba Hospital, a drive which then took Dennis nearly 2 days with the van.  This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). With more than 2,000 landing strips in the RFDS network across Australia, the RFDS aeromedical retrieval team is always ready to respond when emergency strikes. This includes emergency evacuations for people who are seriously ill or injured and require urgent medical attention as well as transport of patient between hospitals.    For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.              All aircraft are staffed with a pilot, flight nurse and a medical officer if required. The aircraft are fully pressurised and configured to resemble mini-intensive care units. They are fitted with a stretcher loading system that is fully compatible with road ambulance systems.                             Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work.
