Mission accomplished! 🏁

Mission accomplished! 🏁 87 km smashed, $423 raised, and only minimal suffering endured. Thanks to everyone who donated! You’ve all helped keep the Flying Doctor flying (and me barely standing).

Update 28/10 and 29/10

28/10 – 2.4 km run after work in the rain. Forgot my running shoes, so I sacrificed my work shoes instead. Came home looking like a drowned rat .. dedication or stupidity? Hard to tell at this point. 29/10 – 3.7 km run after work around the Varsity area. If anyone saw a weirdo jogging across the highway overpass. yeah, that was probably me Good news. Only 2km to go until I hit my target

Update 27/10 - the day the sun tried to kill us all.

October 27. Yesterday was 37 degrees. Given the offensive heat levels, yesterday was only a walk. (Boo! 👎) Clocked 4.1km by end of day.

Midway uodate.

Over the halfway point now. Completed a massive double-session today. ✅ Morning run: 2.7 km ✅ After-work run: 2.9 km Total today: 5.6 km Status check: 28 km left with 11 days to go → totally on track. Feet = cooked 🔥 Blisters = unwanted running buddies Beer gut = stubborn but still under surveillance $98 raised so far. Not a massive amount, but I haven't given up yet.

Day 4 - evening run

There is no better way to embrace the spooky season, than with an evening run. Snapped an eerie photo of the lake near the Varsity wetlands circuit. FYI. those aren't birds, they are bats.🦇🦇🎃🎃👻.

Day 1 - first run.

Day 1 – Charity Run Begins Today I clocked 2.84 km to kick off my charity run. I’ll admit, I’ve let my fitness slip a little lately.but what better way to get back on track than with a good cause? Running through Varsity Lakes made it all worthwhile. The winding nature trails, the calm water, and the birdlife along the way are a reminder of why it’s such a beautiful place to get moving. This is just the start. Many more kilometers (and sore legs) to come, all in support of a great cause. Stay tuned for more of my punishment and photos of Varsity's amazing lakes. Today's run was recorded in Strava, but future runs will be recorded through the Oceans to Outback app directly. Check out my run on Strava: https://strava.app.link/H3ISeNJX5Wb

Only 3 more days.

Only 3 days to go before the madness begins. Training kicks off! 🏃‍♂️🔥 I’m dusting off the old running shoes and wondering… who’s going to break first? the shoes or me? 😅 I’ll be running all through October to raise money for charity, so stay tuned for the ups, the downs, and probably a few blisters along the way. Let’s make every step count. 💪💛 #RunningForCharity #OctoberChallenge #WhoWillBreakfirst

We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!
