Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.
Donate now >>Forest Gump
If Forest Gump could do it so could I 😊 Sunday I will complete my 87 km and Im glad to have raised $1240 for RFDS from so many kind donations . I have a story to share .. Nearly 20 years ago I was the only womens health care Nurse covering 3 towns in the rural sector .There was no female Doctors left in town and I saw a poster advertising RFDS womens clinics if the towns met certain criteria . I approached RFDS and we were able to set up the first monthly Womans clinic and let the women acess a female Doctor in Mudgee and then following its sucess 2 more clinics in Rylstone and Gulgong .The ciinics were welcomed with open arms by the women and now its time to give back ..so on I walk 🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️Recruiting legs

And on I walk !

We have beautiful creeks and hills around home and most of my walks will be around here ( see images )I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
31
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
19
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
18
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
