Why I'm running

This October, I’m taking on the Oceans to Outback Challenge, committing to run 250KM throughout the month to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

As the Brands & Marketing Manager at eNurse – the one-stop destination for healthcare professionals, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with and learn more about the incredible people who dedicate their lives to healthcare. It has given me an even greater appreciation for the vital role healthcare professionals play in our communities — and how important it is that every Australian can access quality care, no matter where they live.

Australia is a huge country, and for people living in remote, rural and regional communities, immediate healthcare isn’t always within easy reach. For some, the nearest hospital can be hours away. That’s where the Royal Flying Doctor Service makes such an incredible difference.

Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians, providing 24-hour emergency retrieval and essential primary healthcare services — that’s approximately one person every two minutes.

So this October, I’m putting on my running shoes and challenging myself to go 250KM for a cause that goes much further.

And I’m incredibly excited that eNurse is getting behind the challenge too!

Throughout the entire month of October, $1 from every pair of elitecare™ compression socks sold at eNurse will be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service — making every pair purchased another small contribution towards helping healthcare reach Australians who need it most.

This one is particularly special to me because I designed the elitecare™ compression sock prints myself! Seeing something I’ve worked on as part of my role at eNurse now helping raise funds for a cause I’m personally taking on 250KM for makes the challenge even more meaningful.

My goal is to raise as much as possible to help keep the Flying Doctor flying and support the healthcare professionals delivering life-saving care to Australians when and where they need it most.

So whether you donate directly, purchase a pair of elitecare™ compression socks during October, share my challenge, or simply cheer me on, every bit of support helps — and will give me some much-needed motivation to keep those legs moving towards 250KM!

Please support my challenge if you can. Together, we can help healthcare go the distance. 💙🏃‍♀️
