Why I'm running
For those living in remote, rural and regional areas across Australia, immediate access to healthcare isn’t a guarantee like it is for us in metro. For some communities, the nearest hospital is an eight hour drive away, resulting in poor health outcomes for our rural friends. The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) aims to bridge this gap in healthcare and provide these communities with life saving care.
This October, I’ll be running 87 kms to help keep the RFDS flying. That’s one kilometre for every aircraft that covers the length and breadth of our country delivering essential aeromedical services. Every year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That works out to one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please consider donating if you are able!!
