Why I'm walking
I'm walking this October to save lives and help more Australians access essential healthcare.

If you’ve never lived or worked in the outback, it’s hard to understand just how important the Royal Flying Doctor Service really is. I was lucky enough to work on two stations in remote Australia and it opened my eyes to the reality that when something goes wrong, help isn’t just around the corner. For many families, stations and communities, the nearest hospital can be hours away, making the RFDS a true lifeline.
This is a foundation that holds a very special place in my heart. The RFDS provides 24 hour emergency retrievals and essential healthcare to more than 330,000 Australians every year, that’s one person every two minutes. Their crews are there when people need them most, no matter how isolated they are.
This October, I’m challenging myself to a month long fitness fundraiser to give back to a service that gives so much to rural and remote Australia by running or walking everyday. My goal is to raise $500 and every single donation, no matter how big or small, will help keep the Flying Doctor flying and ensure people living in the bush can continue to access the care they deserve.
Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey and more importantly, for supporting a service that means the world to so many Australians.
